Caribbean night

Caribbean Night is a personal project inspired by the multiple black-outs we had because of a strike of EDF (electrical company). This motion design piece invites us to discover the beauties of the Caribbean nights.

 

I had fun drawing and animating typical plants and animals of Guadeloupe, the island where I live.

Behind the scenes

  • Collecting and drawing

    Before jumping into Adobe Illustrator, I drew the iguana, the raccoon on paper and collected some references

  • Vector illustration

    I made all my shapes in illustrator. Here are the animals.

  • Colouring

    Colouring was made in Phostoshop.

  • Texturing

    Texturing was also made in Phostohop, using a brush.

  • Animation

    Animation was entirely made in After effects as well as shadowing. I decided to make a loopable animation so that it could be exported in infinite Gif
